A detachment of soldiers ,on Monday, took positions and secured the streets on Lagos Island, Lagos State, on Monday, following alleged unrest in a certain market.

Some thugs were said to have attacked the market to vandalise shops and rob people leaving some injured.

But the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, debunked the report, saying that nobody was robbed and no shop was vandalised.

He added that the attack was not from political thugs, saying that the police had intervened in the unrest.
