Usman stated this during an exclusive interview with Theideal team in Sokoto on Wednesday.

According to the chief law officer of the state, Governor Tambuwal is running an inclusive government of the people, for the people and by the people.

Usman further disclosed that there is access to justice in the state, saying that the Governor has upgraded the court facilities and increased the capacity development of judicial officers.

Speaking on the dynamic leadership of Tambuwal, the Sokoto AG said, “ Governor Tambuwal has always been fond of good governance, good projects, especially infrastructure projects, that can link up societies and improve not only movement of people, but trade through enhance movement of goods and services.

“So when he became the governor, he identified certain key areas that he needs to focus on. Number one was education.

“He (Governor Tambuwal) declared a state of emergency in education and ensure the enactment of Right to Education Law in 2017, thereby guaranteeing education as a right, especially basic education and to some extent, secondary and tertiary education.

“And under that law, no person of school age should be denied enrollment at government educational institutions -the primary, secondary and tertiary.

“Apart from that, a high powered committee was set up under the leadership of our revered Royal Father, the Sultan of Sokoto, to ensure that every person, especially the elite, those in civil service, political office holders, are made to be socially responsible by contributing to the efforts of government to ensure efficient and quality education for the citizenry.

“A lot of intervention has been done in education sector by the state government in terms of scholarship.

“Over N20billion has been spent so far when it comes to scholarship in terms of sponsoring students to get education, both within and outside the state and outside the country.

“Many schools have been established. No fewer than 20 new Secondary School equipped to international standard have been built.

“Over 80 new Junior secondary schools were established by His Excellency while about 2,000 teachers were recruited and employed.”

On agriculture, Usman said, “In terms of agriculture, the governor has done a lot. He procured fertilizers and distributed them in order to improve the farming capacity of our farmers in rural areas.

Regarding the health care in the state, the Sokoto AG said, “In terms of health care, the Governor has performed creditably. What the government has done is almost a revolution.

“You’ve seen the Diagnostic Centre, you’ve seen the state-of-the-art equipment there. “You’ve seen the State University Teaching Hospital, you’ve seen the foundation that has been laid for the establishment of the College of Health Sciences”.

On access to justice, the Senior Advocate said, “ When the state government came in, we know the challenge of access to justice is a global one, just as in Nigeria, globally. If you are talking about access to justice and even legal services, you know that there is a problem. So what Governor Tambuwal put in place can be termed as non-interference policy.

“And then the state government has never picked interest in any case, either against government, between government and citizens or citizens against the state.

“So, the judiciary and supervisors were given uninterrupted and impeded atmosphere to do justice according to the materials before them and fear of God.

“Governor Tambuwal also remodeled the State High Court to a modern High Court that can be compared in terms of facilities to any court of superior records.

“Our judges are being sent to both national and international trainings that are funded by the state government. Their medical care and needs are being taken care of, including the personal and social commitments whenever they arise. The state government usually comes in to give them the necessary support and solidarity, so that they will have a conducive atmosphere to do justice.”
