* Decries killings of 15 people by bandits 

Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal on Monday, presented N188billion 2022 Budget to the State House of Assembly  in Sokoto.

The development came just as Tambuwal decried the bandits’ killings of 15 people at Goronyo and Illela local government areas of the state on Sunday night.

In his condolence message to the people of the state before presenting the budget to the State Assembly, Tambuwal said  12 people were killed in Illela and 3 others in Goronyo local government areas respectively.

Presenting the 2022 budget, Tambuwal appealed to the citizens of the state not to be distracted by the ugly antics of enemies of humanity and progress.

The governor, while addressing the State Assembly, said in consonance with the existing budgetary standing and prevailing fiscal projection, the year 2022 Budget stands at N88,429,495,847.63.

The figures, according to Tambuwal,  is lower than the current 2021 budget of N205,016,512,295.41 by N16,587,016,447.78 representing 8.1%.

Tagging the 2022 budget as that of, Accomplishment and Sustainable Development”, Tambuwal also disclosed the sectoral allocation of the budget while education received the highest vote of N37,006,032,670.92 which is 20%.

This is followed by Health with  N28,806,855,774.51, representing 15%, then Agriculture with N22,551,438,538.42, representing 12% and Infrastructure with the sum of N18,176,537,119.57 which is the 10% of the total budget.

The Sokoto Governor also stated that, “The remaining sum of N81,888,631,774.20 is allocated to other expenditures and it represent 43% of the total budget.

“The Capital Expenditure is 59.7% while recurrent spending is 40.3% of the total Budget. The Budget will focus on completion of all ongoing infrastructural projects and the legacy projects started by this Administration”.
