Tahzan Events in collaboration with Casaf Foundation, on Tuesday, launched “Safe Haven” to commemorate the International Women’s Day Event.
In her opening remarks, the Convener of the event, Zaynab Ikaz-Kassim said the aim of setting up the initiative was to create a safe space where deep concerns and unseen pains of women are shared and demystified.
She added that initiative also aims to empower and encourage all women and girls to gain the physical and mental support and confidence and skills they need to achieve their full potential and become stronger and more independent.
She stated that she had always wanted to create a networking tribe where women can feel comfortable as alot of women were suffering in silence either from family or work pressures
The event was well attended by women, uniquely selected from the private and public sector.
The event also witnessed series of emotions as women shared their stories and were moved to tears after which they celebrated; clamoring to the convener to ensure a repeat of the event as soon as possible.
The women also engaged in flash skill acquisition as one of the new tribe members showed us how to make perfume oils.
The celebration and fun went on till the event came to its crescendo with karaoke!
