President Bola Tinubu has disclosed that he is not thinking about his re-election and the 2027 general elections, saying that his pre-occupation is to tackle the economic challenges and deliver dividends of democracy.

Tinubu, who was represented at the event by his Chief of Staff, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, stated this on Saturday at the 2024 South West Assembly of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The President also stated that he was focused on restructuring the economy for the benefit of Nigerians and urged them to be patient with his administration, which is committed to the genuine progress of the populace.

Also speaking at the event, the APC National Vice Chairman, South-West , Isaac Kekemeke, emphasised the importance of reflecting on the party’s performance and strategising for the future.

Kekemeke added that the purpose of the assembly was to assess the APC’s achievements in the zone, evaluate its standing, and chart a path forward to ensure continued success.

He further lauded President Tinubu for his courage and commitment to addressing Nigeria’s development challenges, expressing optimism that Nigerians would soon begin to see the benefits of these efforts.

In his comment at the event, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu noted that the South West is blessed with ‘vast natural and human resources, exceptional creativity, intellectual strength, and a rich cultural heritage’

He said, “The South-West is uniquely positioned to propel our nation forward and secure Nigeria’s place in the global community.”
