Tinubu

In what can be considered as a serious message to heads of MDAs that the era of impunity is gone, President Bola Tinubu has dismissed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Mr Babatunde Irukera and the Director General/CEO of Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Mr Alexander Ayoola Okoh.

The Spokesman to the President, Ajuri Ngelale, stated this in a statement made available to TheIdeal News on Monday.

Ngelale added that Tinubu took the action against the two CEOs in conformity with his plans to restructure and reposition critical agencies of the Federal Government towards protecting the rights of Nigerian consumers and providing a strong basis for enhanced contributions to the nation’s economy by key growth-enabling institutions.

The two dismissed CEOs have also been directed to hand over to the next most senior officer in their respective agencies, pending the appointment of new CEOs.

The statement reads in part, “By this directive of the President, their removal from office takes immediate effect.”
