President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon Abike Dabiri- Erewa on her 63rd birthday on October 11.
According to a statement made available on Saturday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu rejoices with Dabiri-Erewa, a devoted public servant, who started her career as a broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and was elected member of the House of Representatives in 2003, 2007 and 2011.
Mrs Dabiri-Erewa was chairman of the House Committee on Media & Publicity and chaired the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs.
Tinubu also affirmed that the Chairperson of NIDCOM has demonstrated love for the country and humanity, over many years by consistently placing the welfare and well-being of the underprivileged at the centre of her work.
The President noted the passion, diligence, and foresight that Dabiri-Erewa brings to her work as a journalist, lawmaker, and chief executive of NIDCOM, particularly her historic roles in pursuing social justice for Nigerians at home and abroad.
Tinubu further acknowledged the patriotic roles of Dabiri-Erewa in attracting Diaspora talents to contribute to the country’s development, particularly in education, health, and sports, affirming that her awards and recognition over the years were well deserved.
