The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, met with a former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, at his Uphill Residence in Minna, Niger State.
The meeting, which was held behind closed doors, lasted for about one hour and also had Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello in attendance.

Tinubu visited the Uphill residence of Babangida after he left the Niger State Government House where he donated N50 million to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Niger State.
When journalists asked him about the purpose of his visit to Babangida, Tinubu said, “You want to know the outcome of the consultation? We are running a democracy, I took my decision voluntarily and I am running for the presidency of the country.
“When I made the declaration, I told you that I am still consulting and I will consult as widely as possible and that is what I am here for. So, he gave me his prayers.”
Meanwhile, Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has subtly endorsed the presidential aspiration of Tinubu ahead of the 2023 Presidential election.

The Niger State Governor while receiving Tinubu in Government House, said he was looking forward to seeing him lay the kind of foundation he laid for the massive transformation in Lagos for Nigeria.
He said, ” Lagos is a country within a country and we saw the foundation you laid there, we are looking forward to seeing you replicate it for Nigeria ”
Speaking earlier, Tinubu urged Nigerians not to see the ongoing security trend in the country as a hopeless situation, noting that, with self-belief and prayers, the situation can be remedied.
He said, ” We share in your grief. I am here for the people of Niger State, hearing and reading of disasters, banditry and cattle rustling every day, just like what happened on Wednesday again”
Tinubu later announced a donation of N50million to those affected by the rampaging banditry attack in Niger State.
