*Dismisses Atiku’s appeal for lack of merit
The Supreme Court, on Thursday, affirmed President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the authentic winner of the presidential election on February 25.
In its lead judgement that was prepared and read by a Justice of the Supreme Court (JSC), Justice Inyang Okoro, and concurred with by six other JSCs, the apex court held that the appeal by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, lacked merit and ought to be dismissed.
The apex court further held that Atiku did not prove that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), did not substantially comply with provisions of the Electoral Act in the conduct of the election.
