The appointment of Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa, as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), by President Bola Tinubu, has thrown women in Samaru Kataf Market, Kaduna State, into wide jubilation on Tuesday morning as the new CDS hails from the area.

A video sighted by Prime Business Africa showed the women dancing to a rhythm produced with local musical instruments and singing in their local language, praising Allah for the appointment of Musa as CDS.

They were said to be expressing hope that the new CDS would take measures to save them from the hands of herdsmen and bandits who have been terrorising them for years now.

Major Gen. Musa, who hails from Zango Kataf, Kaduna State, is among the newly appointed service chiefs announced by President Tinubu on Monday night following the removal of old ones.

Tinubu ordered a compulsory retirement of the service chiefs including the Inspector General of Police and Controller General of Customs Service.

Muas was a member of the 38th Infantry Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy and was commissioned on 21 September 1991.

He has over the years, risen through the ranks, attended several military trainings and held different positions in the Nigerian Army, with the latest before his appointment as CDS being Theatre Comd JTF (NE) Op HADIN KAI, (2021 till date).
