Vice President-Elect, Sen Kashim Shettima gas assured the newly elected leaders will work for the good of the country.
Shettima gave this assurance in an interview with journalists in Maiduguri after casting his ballot.
“We will work assidiously for the good of the nation. We will reach out to all interest groups. We will not grandstand. It is time for sober reflection. We will bring all interest groups together and for the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, this is what will be done,” he disclosed.
He said it was time for all Nigerians to cohalliate into a single force to build the country. He assured the new leader will not grandstand.
“It is time for sober reflection, time to build unity to bring all together,” he stated.
He said he was humbled by the victory of his All Progressive Party (APC) in the February 25 presidential election, noting that “success is humbling.”
He said Nigeria is a great nation but budged down by corruption, insecurity and other challenges. He urged the people to support the incoming leader to rebuild the country.
Shettima cast his vote at his Lawan Kukawa Polling unit in Msiduguri, Borno State capital, at about 11am.
